The point of the portfolio approach, as I understand it, is that the ups and downs are meant to cancel each other out leaving you with a nice, steady, even profit. Well that hasnt happened so far and today was another example of everything failing at once.
Two losers apiece from Pricewise Extra and Steve Lewis Hamilton and one from Tipping Legends means its been another expensive day. As ever, I have to tell myself to be patient and wait for things to come good. Its tough though when you have so many losers at once. To be honest, if it wasnt for my own betting, I would probably have to be cutting stakes already. A sobering thought so early in to the experiment.
Im on Jiyai Shin for the LPGA today, feel she is much more clinical at the moment than some of the others at the top of the leaderboard and has added incentive to capture all the honours today. Ochoa looks a shadow of her former self and I would be suprised if she wins tonight.
A word on Horse Betting Index: I am considering upping the stakes slightly to £25/point after recent successes. Its now looking like nine winning months out of nine and over 400 points profit for the season for them. Although the ROI isnt as high as Equine Investments or SLH this year, its still mightily impressive. That kind of consistency is exactly what you're looking for as an investor, and would have allowed a considerable building of the bank over the year. Ive only been with them a short while but I can see potential and I want to put my money where my mouth is by looking to grow the bank as profits build.
